Here it the link if you would like to watch it with your child.

Challenge Question - Oct 26

Task:  Write Mrs. Barker 3 sentences about what REMEMBRANCE DAY means to you.

Task 2: Tell Mrs. Barker 3 things that you can do to make the world a better place and to spread peace in the world.

Remembrance Day

We have started our discussions about Remembrance Day in class.
I am linking a few of the videos that we watched as a class.

This topic can always be hard for students as there is a level of sadness to it.

I let them know that it is okay to be sad.  It makes me sad as I lost a friend to the war in Afghanistan.

Rest in peace Bryon Greff.  You are missed.

This is the memorial tank that was set up  for Byron in my home town of Lacombe.  He was a hero in so many different ways.

Please take the time to view these videos and have some conversations with your children at home about what Remembrance Day means to you.

MUSICAL INSTRUMENT CLASS PROJECT

On TUESDAY, Oct 24th your child will be constructing a working musical instrument in science class.  They need to bring the materials that they want to use for this project from home.  Your child needs to decide what kind of instrument they want to make this weekend.  Your child may want to draw a plan for their instrument this weekend and bring it in on Tuesday.  Please send your child with ALL their instrument building materials on TUESDAY.  I will have some extra materials on hand if they are needed.  Do not worry about sending in things like tape, rubber bands or yarn as I will have all that.  DO NOT HAVE THEM CONSTRUCT ANY PART OF THEIR INSTRUMENT AT HOME AS ALL THE BUILDING WILL BE DONE AT SCHOOL!!!

Instrument choices: a wind instrument (needs to be blown into), a percussion instrument (needs to be tapped or hit) or a string instrument (needs to be plucked or strummed).

Thank you for your help with this project.
