IMPORTANT - SALT DOUGH FOR MONDAY!!!!

Dear Parents:

In science on MONDAY we will be doing a project with SALT DOUGH.  I need each student to bring in their own salt dough for this project. The recipe is very simple to make.  Please make up the recipe on SUNDAY NIGHT (keep salt dough refrigerator overnight in an air tight container or bag – very important), so that it is fresh for your child to use on MONDAY.

PLEASE SEND SALT DOUGH TO SCHOOL IN AN AIR TIGHT CONTAINER OR BAG ON MONDAY MORNING (June 9th).

Thank you for taking the time to do this! You will be amazed to see what your child creates!

Basic Salt Dough Recipe
Ingredients:
·         1 cup of fine salt
·         1 cup of flour
·         1/2 cup of water (may add more)
Instructions:
o    In a large bowl, combine the salt and the flour
o    Make a well in the salt/flour mixture and add the water
o    Knead until smooth and shape into a ball
o    When not in use, wrap in plastic or store in an airtight container
HINT: To get a softer dough you can add more flour. Adding more salt will lend a more granulous affect.

Thank you!

Mrs. Barker
