Chick City

We will be doing "Chick City" tomorrow from 11:00 - 11:45 am.

Our chick eggs for some unknown reason have not hatched yet.  Mrs. Prawdzik and I are doing some investigating to figure out what the problem is.   So we will be doing another chick hatch with our class after the Easter break.

The kids are dealing with the news well.  They wanted to continue with "Chick City" tomorrow with the chicks that hatched in Mrs. Prawdzik's class.

So what we will do is have another mini chick city when we do the rehatch of chicks in our classroom after Easter.

If you would like to join us for "Chick City" tomorrow please feel free.

HELPERS NEEDED

IMPORTANT ---Help Needed for Pysanky Egg Decorating!!!

Dear Parents:

As part of our Social Studies program, one of the countries that we are studying is the Ukraine.  One part of the program is to look at traditions and celebrations.  We will be doing traditional Ukrainian Pysanky (egg decorating) and are in need of parental assistance. The kids will be working with traditional pysanky tools and using candles to melt bee’s wax.  If you are willing to help please fill in the form below and check off the times you are available.  Due to the nature of the activity we cannot accommodate younger siblings.
Thank you for all your help and support.  Parent assistance IS REQUIRED for this activity, as candles will be used to melt wax and kids will need help to complete the delicate egg dying process.  If you can assist on any of the days below please complete the form and return to school as soon as possible.

If you are able to assist on more than one day that would be great. J

Please check the date that you can assist on below.

Field Trip - Parent Helpers Needed

Dear Parents,

We will be taking the Grade 3 classes to the “Building Bridges” presentation at the Galt Museum. This presentation is of special interest, as it complements our Science program.

Our class will be attending on Thursday, April 10th.

Our presentation will be from 9:20am until 10:50am. We will be leaving the school by bus at approximately 9:00am and we will return to the school at about 11 am.   You are welcome to join us on the bus or you can also just meet us at the GALT.

We will need five parents from each class to accompany and assist children at this presentation. If you are available to help us, please return the lower portion of this form to your child’s homeroom teacher as soon as possible. (Due to the nature of this presentation, we ask that younger siblings not attend with our parent assistants.)

Thank you for your support of the programs we offer your child.

Sincerely,

Mrs. Barker
