My classroom now has a hand sanitizer dispenser installed right beside the door. I will be having the students use hand sanitizer consistently throughout the day to help prevent the spread of germs in the classroom.
I have also been disinfecting the classroom on a regular basis with Lysol wipes. If parents would like to donate a container of lysol wipes to our classroom that would greatly appreciated.
We are doing all we can to help prevent the spread of germs through the classroom to keep the kids as healthy as possible.

Polar bear cubs are much smaller than human babies when they're born. They are the size of a rat and weigh little more than a pound. However, even though they are born so tiny, they can grow to full man size in a year if they have lots of food.

I am so proud of how hard the kids are working to challenge themselves to be "juicy" writers. Here is a bat poem for you to read!
This poem was written by Lauren. She did a great job of using juicy words to create vivid picture in the reader's mind.
Bats, Bats, Bats
In the dark, crisp and rocky cave there sat a cold blooded vampire bat.
The vampire bat soared through the deep, dark forest to grab a little bunny.
Now, people are in such fright!
The flying mammal crept in the cold, moist air.
The sweet fruit bat couldn't hurt a fly.
The flying fox is the great creature of the night.
The mist in the air faded away into the clouds as the skinny, tall bat zoomed across the sky.
An owl swooped up a fruit bat from the warm air, as a vampire bat crept through the midnight sky up high.

MMH has a strong focus on health living for both students and staff. Starting today, the entire school will be involved in a "health hustle" during the morning announcements. The "health hustle" is a short three minute aerobic activity to get the blood pumping through the body in the morning. It is our goal as a school that the "health hustle" will help increase the level of physical activity your child is engaged in each day.

The teachers at MMH are embarking on a new journey to increase our level of communication with the school community through the use of BLOGS. You can check my classroom blog for updates as to what is happening in the classroom, events that are upcoming and general news. Weekly spelling lists will also be posted on the blog. I will be putting up a collection of great websites for your child to use at home to enhance their understanding of the material being learned in the classroom.
Polls will be posted on the blog as a fun way for you and your child to vote on a particular topic. Currently there is a poll about "What is your favorite thing to eat at Thanksgiving?".
If at any time you have any suggestions of what you’d like to see on the blog, please let me know and we’ll see if we can make that happen! Please be sure to check the blog on a regular basis to keep yourself updated.
This is my first time creating a blog, so we will see how this journey goes but I think it will be a great tool for communication between home and school environments.
